Dog Lupo selects Prince George's name from a slip of paper

They took the final decision with the help of their dog Lupo, as reported by The Times. Besides George, the name Alexander, in honor of the queen, whose middle name is Alexandra, was up for grabs. The name Louis, after Prince Louis Alexander of Battenberg, the grandfather of Prince Philip, was a strong contender.

Rumor has it they wrote down all three names on different pieces of paper and laid them out on the floor. Lupo then was presented with the slips of paper to choose one, in the end, the slip with the name George was the winner.

Thus, Prince George was named after King George VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II.
