Angelina Jolie Shares What Quarantine With Her Kids Is Like
With six kids around all the time, Angelina Jolie's quarantine situation isn't exactly a peaceful one! The actress opened up about staying organized in the "chaos" of it all, having family movie nights, and more. Find out what she said!
Angelina Jolie certainly doesn't mind getting to spend some quality time with her family during quarantine! As People shares, Jolie opened up in a new interview about what life is like at home with her six kids constantly around!
Jolie not bothered by stressful environments: "I like chaos"
Jolie shared that she doesn't get worked up about frantic situations. "You know, I've never been one who valued relaxation. I like chaos," the actress told E!'s Daily Pop. "... I've been on high-level meetings where there's dogs and balls and kids and things. You kind of just enjoy being human with everybody else and laughing through it."
With sons Maddox, Pax, and Knox, as well as daughters Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne, Jolie certainly has her hands full! She shared that while she does try to create "a bit of structure" within everyone's routines, she's not the most organized one in the family! "My daughter Zahara is better at organizing things than I am," Jolie said.
Jolie says family movie nights involve "lots of popcorn"
Jolie then talked about what a typical family movie night looks like at her house during quarantine! "Well, we're all there," she shared. "So all six kids, my oldest son's home from Korea — lots of popcorn and just like really every family, we're just pajamas, robes, snacks." As People mentions, Jolie also talked to Extra on Monday about how her kids have been helping around the house.
"They’re all together and it's a nice big bunch, so everybody's helping each other out," the actress said. "We're lucky." Jolie went on to explain that her oldest son, 19-year-old Maddox, was supposed to be overseas for school. However, he was forced to return home to do online classes because of the pandemic! "He had to stay back from Korea," she said. "He's going online, and so I think he starts at 6 p.m. at night."
Jolie advocating for underprivileged children affected by pandemic
Jolie is known for being a humanitarian as well as an actress, so it's not surprising that she's continued her activism during the pandemic! As People shares, Jolie has been donating to organizations helping children whose lives have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. She even penned an op-ed for Time on the topic back in April!
"Isolating a victim from family and friends is a well-known tactic of control by abusers," Jolie wrote, "meaning that the social distancing that is necessary to stop COVID-19 is one that will inadvertently fuel a direct rise in trauma and suffering for vulnerable children."
"It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child," she concluded the piece. "It will take an effort by the whole of our country to give children the protection and care they deserve." Last month, Jolie was also featured in the magazine, interviewing a climate change activist for the annual Time 100 issue! And since Jolie stars in the upcoming Disney+ film The One and Only Ivan, perhaps that will be the next movie she and her kids sit down to watch together!
