Brandon Lee: The tragic death of Bruce Lee's son
Brandon Lee was, just like his father, an actor who specialized in action movies. However, one of these movies was the young actor's undoing, because he died during a tragic accident on set.
Brandon Lee (†28) was the son of action legend Bruce Lee (†32). Just like his father, Brandon practiced martial arts and was featured in several action films, including Showdown in Little Tokyo and The Crow. Sadly, he was accidentally shot at the age of 28.
It was one of the worst set accidents in Hollywood history: Brandon Lee was involved in an accident while filming The Crow; he was shot with a gun, which was used as prop on the set. For a close-up, the gun was first loaded with an empty magazine whose priming charge had already been used up.

However, the pistol was mistakenly loaded with a magazine which’s priming charge was still active. When the pistol was fired, the cartridge case got stuck in the gun barrel. Later, the gun was filled with powder to make the shot look as real as possible.
Unfortunately, nobody noticed the cartridge case, which was still inside the pistol. During the next shot, it was catapulted by a powder explosion and hit Brandon Lee right in the stomach. The actor was immediately taken to a hospital and had an emergency surgery but could not be saved.
After the accident, the filming of The Crow concluded and the movie was posthumously dedicated to Brandon Lee and his fiancée at that time, Eliza Hutton.
