Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin Jr. was born on April 16th, 1889 as the son of the artist couple Charles and Hannah Harriet Chaplin. His parents split shortly after his birth and he and his half brother Sydney were left to be raised by their mother.
In 1914, Chaplin decided to sign with Keystone Studios and was met with huge success following his film debut in "Making A Living". Because he was unsatisfied with the role, Chaplin decided to create a new character for his movies. He borrowed an old pair of shoes from his co-star Ford Sterling, as well as an oversized pair of pants, a top hat, and a undersized jacket. To top it all off, he also got himself a fake mustache.
"The Tramp" was born in Ferbruary of 1914 and made his debut in the movies "The Kid Auto Races In Venice" and "Mabel's Strange Predicament". A legend was born...
Chaplin made his first breakthrough in 1915. There were comics, songs and even action figures were made in his honor. Chaplin himself turned into a franchise. He most notable movies at the time were "The Kid" (1921) and "The Great Dictator" (1940). He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II back in 1975.
Charlie Chaplin married, the then 16 year old, Mildred Harris at the age of 28. The reason for their quick marriage was Harris's urgent pregnancy, which turned out to be false. The only child that came out of their marriage was his son Norman. Sadly, Norman had serious health issues which led to him passing three days after his birth. After two years of marriage, the two decided to file for divorce.
His second wife Lita Grey was also only 16 by the time they got married in 1924. She played the leading role in his movie "The Gold Rush" and even got pregnant with his child during the production of the movie. The two ended up having 2 sons, Charles Chaplin Jr. and Sydney Earle Chaplin. Eventually the two were just overall unhappy with each other which led to them filing for divorce in 1927.
Charles Jr. and his brother Sydney were also in the film industry for a while. The two worked as actors in the US and Sydney even won a Tony Award for his role in the Broadway musical "Bells Are Ringing". He fell off the radar around 1977 and later passed away on March 3rd, 2009 in California. Charles Chaplin Jr. published a book titled "My Father, Charlie Chaplin" back in 1961, talking all about his father. He too passed away in March of 1968 due to thrombosis.

Oona O'Neill, daughter of the Nobel Prize winner Eugene O'Neill, was the fourth, and last, wife of famous Charlie Chaplin. The then 18 year old met and quickly married the 54 year old Chaplin. The two had 8 children together.
Geraldine Leigh Chaplin was the oldest daughter of Oona O'Neill and Charlie Chaplin. She always wanted to follow in her parents footsteps and become an actress. That's exactly what she did, receiving her first role at the age of 8. She then became an overnight success and took over international roles in several different productions. Michael first accomplishment was his first book he published at the age of 19, describing his life and living in the shadow of his father. Michael was married to Patrice Chaplin, also a writer, with whom he had two sons with, Tim and Christian Chaplin.
Today the actor and author is 70 years old. Michael has 7 children altogether: Christian and Tim, who were born out of his first marriage to Patrice, and Dolores, Carmen, Tracy, Kathleen and George, who came out of Michael's marriage to Patricia Betaudier.
Dolores Chaplin is also currently acting and is most known for her roles in "Après Mai" and the German film "The Counterfeiters". She is now married to Stany Coppet with whom she has a child, Akilles Leo Coppet. Her sister Carmen is also in the industry appearing in productions like "All About The Money" and "Prisoners Of The Sun".
Josephine Chaplin was Charlie's second daughter. Josephine lived and worked in France for the majority of her life. She wrote two books about her deceased husband, the author Maurice Ronet, and also released several Charlie Chaplin records, which contained many of the songs Chaplin composed for his movies.
Josephine has a grand total of three kids: Charlie Sistovaris, Julien Ronet and Arthur Gardin.
Just like her siblings, Victoria Chaplin also played many roles in her father's movies. She played her first role in Chaplin's movie "Limelight" while she was still a baby. Victoria has been married to circus man Jean-Baptiste Thierrée since 1970 and continues to perform with him regularly. The two have a son, James Thierrée, and a daughter, Aurélia Thierrée.

Eugene played a huge role in the film production and documentation of his father's work. He, alongside his daughter Kiera, filmed a documentary called "My Tribute", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin's death. Eugene is currently married to Bernadette McCready Chaplin with whom he has 6 children.
Kiera Chaplin is Eugene Chaplin's oldest daughter. She a made name for herself in the Model industry, modeling for fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, People, and GQ. Kiera has five other siblings: Laura, Kevin, Skye, Shannon and Oona.
Charlie Chaplin also has three other kids: Jane, Annette and Christopher Chaplin.
Charlie Chaplin died on Decemeber 25th, 1977 at the age of 88 in Switzerland. After his funeral, his body was stolen by grave robbers and held for ransom. Eventually the police were able to apprehend the thieves and Mr. Chaplin was laid to rest in peace.
Charlie was buried for the second time, but this time underneath a proof, two meter thick, slab of concrete. Charlie Chaplin is a legend in the film industry and will always be in the hearts of fans everywhere!
