Christian Bale Says 'American Psycho' Cast Thought He Was "The Worst Actor" Ever
Christian Bale revealed in an interview that his American Psycho castmates were not impressed with his acting during filming. But there is more to the story! Bale's performance in American Psycho may have changed their minds once they saw it on-screen...
Actor Christian Bale only recently learned of this story from American Psycho co-star Josh Lucas. The pair of actors reunited in Ford v Ferrari last year, when Lucas told Bale of the American Psycho cast's thoughts on his acting.
In an interview with MovieMaker, Bale said: "[Lucas] informed me that all of the other actors thought that I was the worst actor they’d ever seen."
Christian Bale: The Machinist and "Batman" star
With the high regard for Bale's performance as "Patrick Bateman" in American Psycho, this news of the cast's opinion comes as a surprise. Many rank his role in the film among his best work, which includes films like The Machinist, The Dark Knight, and American Hustle.
But here's the full story. According to Bale, Josh Lucas said that the cast members changed their minds once they saw the finished film.
Apparently Bale's eccentric and maniacal acting didn't translate well on set. The film is a dark, satirical horror film, so his performance must not have shone through until it was edited for the film.
More Christian Bale movies coming soon?

Up next, you can see Bale in the upcoming "Thor" movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. He's also slated to reunite with director David O. Russell in an untitled drama project. They previously collaborated on The Fighter and American Hustle.
