At such a young age, Daniel Radcliffe had become one of the highest paid and most recognizable actors in the world. This weighed heavily on the Harry Potter protagonist. Now Daniel is very open on his struggles and his unhealthy escapes.
As the series was nearing its close, Daniel admits "It was a panic, a little bit not knowing what to do next - not being comfortable enough in who I was to remain sober."

He found himself being stared at in public and would drink to numb the feeling of being watched. It got to the point where he would even show up to filming either hungover or drunk. He admits he would black out regularly and "change", then because of his fame his drunken antics would be very public and embarrassing.
Today, Daniel owes his sobriety to his parents and co-stars who "were able to give me enough perspective on my life and help me at key moments." Now when he craves a drink he goes for a long walk or exercises. We are proud of you, Daniel.
