Born on May 12th, 1983, Domhnall Gleeson grew up the oldest of three other brothers. One of his brothers is actor Brian Gleeson, and his famous father, Brendan, who had starred with Domnhall in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. It's no surprise that Domhnall has the acting genes within of him!

Before he started his professional career in acting, Gleeson obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts at the Dublin Institute of Technology. After graduating, he began his theatre career, which led to bigger on-screen roles.

Harry Potter wasn't even his first film with his father. Rather, they both starred in the short film Six Shooter together, which won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film. Not bad for a rookie!

It was in 2010 when he really gained international recognition as an actor with his portrayal of "Bill Weasley", "Ron Weasley"'s older brother in the Harry Potter films. Since, he's been in many award winning films, such as Ex Machina and The Revenant. He also made his Star Wars debut in 2017 with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and reprised the role again in 2019 in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Domhnall Gleeson as "Bill Weasley" in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1

Today, you can find Gleeson in the live-action Peter Rabbit films! He starred in the first one in 2018, alongside Rose Byrne and Margot Robbie, and will continue to star as "Thomas McGregor" and "Mr. Jeremy Fisher" in the sequel, which is set for a 2021 release.

On television, you can see him in HBO's comedy-thriller series, Run, where he stars as the main character "Billy Johnson". We can't wait to see more of this Irish face!
