'EastEnders': These Relationships Formed After The Show

EastEnders is a soap known for its violence and extremely dramatic episodes. But what about reality? Have any of the actors begun romantic relationships outside of the show? Let's find out!

Jacqueline and Tony

Jacqueline Jossa who plays "Lauren Branning" and Tony Discipline who plays "Tyler Moon" began a relationship in 2011, having grown close on set but after 18 months, the couple decided to break up. 

Joe and Kara

Joe Swash and Kara Tointon who played "Mickey Miller" and "Dawn Swann" ended up starting a romance outside of work, dating from 2008 – 2010, splitting when Kara left the show.

Shona and Matt

Shona McGarty who plays "Whitney Carter" and Matt Lapinskas who plays "Anthony Moon" got together outside of the show. The couple began dating in 2011 having met on the soap with Matt describing their relationship as ‘love at first sight.’ They were together for 18 months, but following Matt’s exit from the show and rumours he had cheated on Shona, they eventually split.

Amy-Leigh and Shaheen

This pair is the youngest and most recent couple, and they’re also the only couple who are still together, with these two meeting last year on the show. Amy-Leigh Hickman plays "Linzi" on set while Shaheen Jafargholi plays her schoolmate "Shakil".
