It's not just fans of Happy Days who hold onto memories of the show.

Henry Winkler, of course, is remembered for his portrayal of "Arthur Fonzarelli" aka "Fonzie" or "The Fonz" on Happy Days. And he just revealed a special keepsake from the show that's remained in his possession.

Winkler, 74, made a virtual appearance on Friday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he walked the host through his "life in jackets."

Happy Days: "Fonzie" lives on in Henry Winkler's wardrobe

After Winkler shared his fandom of Fallon's at-home talk show, the host shifted focus to Winkler's storied career.

"I heard a story that you like to keep something from every set you work on," Fallon began. "Is that true?"

"I'm a hoarder," Winkler responded jokingly. "But I do. I thought it would be fun. I have my life in jackets."

The actor, who today co-stars on Barry, first produced a jacket from The Lords of Flatbush before unveiling the iconic piece of television history: The original leather jacket he wore as "The Fonz" on Happy Days between 1974 and 1984.

"They made five ["Fonzie" leather jackets], and they put them under lock and key, and I got one of them," Winkler explained to an astonished Fallon. The interview is included below.

In the interview, the 74-year-old actor also shared a heart-warming story about the meaning behind a jacket in his personal wardrobe.

"I bought a sport coat in 1975, and while I was buying [it], I saw another one," Winkler explained. "And there was a beautiful girl with red hair and purple parachute pants. I said, 'Excuse me, which one should I get?' I should have known there was a problem, she said 'Both.'

"I went back the next week, when it was altered, and she was there," he continued.

Fallon followed up by asking if he saw the girl again. "Yeah, we've been married for 42 years," Winkler revealed, acknowledging that it was his now-wife Stacey Weitzman.
