'Carpool Karaoke’: James Corden Shares Never-Before-Seen BTS Clip Thanking BTS Army
On Monday's episode of The Late Late Show, host James Corden talked about the amazing efforts of K-pop group BTS and their fanbase! Here's what he said about the BTS Army!
James Corden couldn't help but mention the incredible activism he's seen within the K-pop community, particularly amongst fans of international sensation BTS!
As Entertainment Tonight shares, Monday's episode of The Late Late Show saw Corden mention how BTS and their fans have been noteworthy for their contributions to the Black Lives Matter movement.
BTS and their fanbase each donate $1 million to Black Lives Matter
BTS donated $1 million in support of Black Lives Matter, with Corden joking, "I guarantee you, there was a three-minute tightly-choreographed dance routine leading up to the signing of that check."
If that wasn't already incredible enough, the group's fanbase— known as the "BTS Army"— then decided to match the donation, donating $1 million themselves in less than 24 hours!
Corden went on to explain how the BTS Army and other K-pop fans also took over the "#AllLivesMatter" hashtag on Twitter, overwhelming it with videos and GIFs of their idols to drown out hateful tweets against the Black community.
"It's clear to me that the only troops we should be sending in right now is the BTS Army," said Corden. "And we wanted to thank all the BTS fans for their phenomenal work these past few days."
Corden surprises BTS fans with new Carpool Karaoke clip of group
Corden wanted to do something special for the BTS Army in recognition of their efforts, which is why he then debuted a new video from BTS' Carpool Karaoke session! As Entertainment Tonight reports, the segment was filmed back in February, but had never been shown until now.
The fun clip of BTS sees the K-pop group singing a round of "Baby Shark," before they break out into a chant of "shark, shark, shark!" to the tune of LMFAO's party song "Shots."
