Actor James McAvoy made a sizable donation for a great and noble cause in times of the COVID-19 pandemic three weeks ago. The crowdfunding campaign he donated to has now surpassed the amount of 1.5 million pounds!
With an uncertain future ahead for the entire world, many celebrities have opened their wallets and are actively giving back amid the COVID-19 pandemic - the handsome and talented Scottish actor James McAvoy (41) is one of them!
In mid-March already, McAvoy used his presence on social media (especially Instagram) to raise awareness and funds for a crowdfunding campaign started by NHS frontline workers: Masks for Heroes. But the Scotsman did not only spread the word, he also gave money to the cause himself.

The star of movies like Atonement and The Last King of Scotland actually pledged £275,000 to Masks for Heroes and the campaign has now already surpassed the amount of 1.5 million pounds, as the actor has documented fervently on his Instagram account - watch the clip above for proof!
One of the people behind the project, Dr Salaj Masand, said: "We are overwhelmed and speechless at the trust and faith people have put into us to deliver this. The number of very generous donations from everyone doubled our target within three days."
