Johnny Cash was born as J.R. Cash on February 26th, 1932 in Kingsland Arkansas. He possesses musical talent at a very young age. After he joins the Air Force and is assigned to a base in Landsberg, Germany, he forms his first band called The Landsberg Barbarians. On August 7th, 1954, John marries Vivian Liberto and they have four daughters: Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy and Tara.
In 1955, Cash meets a young country singer named June Carter. He begins an intense working relationship with her and that along with his constant touring and drug and alcohol abuse, Vivian files for divorce in 1966.
He adopts his stage name "Johnny" and releases his first two recordings with Sun Records being Hey Porter and Cry Cry Cry in 1955. In 1957, Johnny Cash becomes the first artist on the label to release a full-length album: Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar.
Johnny and June get married in February 1968 and two years later they welcome their first and only son, John Carter Cash.
In 1969, Johnny Cash premieres The Johnny Cash Show on the ABC network that had a 58-episode run. In 1971, Johnny records the iconic song Man in Black that became one of his signature tracks. In 1975, he releases his first ever autobiography, Man in Black which sells 1.3 million copies.
At 48 years old, Johnny Cash becomes the youngest living inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He is also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Lyle Lovett in 1992.
In 1990, Johnny Cash accepts his Grammy Legend Award. A huge honour for the artist.

Four months after June's passing in May 2003, Johnny passes away at the age of 71. He is buried next to June in Hendersonville, Tennessee. May they both continue to rest in peace.
