Kevin Hart Explains Why He's Defending Nick Cannon and Ellen DeGeneres Amid Controversy
Kevin Hart is standing up for Nick Cannon and Ellen DeGeneres despite recent controversy surrounding the two TV hosts. As both Cannon and DeGeneres come under fire for alleged behaviour, Hart is making it clear he's sticking by his friends!
Kevin Hart is making it known that he is sticking up for his friends, and doesn't care who has something to say about it! The Jumanji star opens up about what it felt like being alone in Hollywood and is making sure no one else he cares about will ever feel the same way.
Hart himself has dealt with controversy and is reminding people that we all make mistakes, but it's our job as friends to back the people we love when disaster hits!
Kevin Hart won't back down when it comes to friends
Despite being happy-go-lucky on TV, maybe not everything is as it seems! Ellen DeGeneres, previously coined America's nicest TV host, is under investigation for misconduct in her studio and is being accused of fostering a "toxic" work environment.
Nick Cannon, on the other hand, is facing backlash for making anti-Semitic remarks on a podcast and was forced to apologize to his fans.
Back in 2018, Kevin Hart also came under fire for past homophobic remarks, forcing the comedian and actor to step down from hosting the Oscars.
Hart shared what it's like in the entertainment world saying, "I don’t lose sight of the definition of friendship, and in our business, it’s one thing that people don’t really hold on to. There’s a lot of relationships that are fake, and there’s some that are real."
"In my case," he continued, "The ones that are real are the ones that I’m always going to be adamant about speaking on behalf of."
He then went on to discuss DeGeneres and Cannon saying, "I know the people that both of them are, and knowing the people, all I can say is my experiences with those people. That’s not to take away from what other people are saying that they have had and that they have done. It’s just to highlight what I’m saying I know, and what I can speak on behalf of."
"I know how lonely it gets," he added. "Because I know that these are times when people just turn their back on you. So for the ones that you love, that are close to your heart, you just want them to have some support when it seems that there is none out there, and that’s just who I am as a person."
He said when it comes to DeGeneres and Cannon, "I know who they are, and I know who they’ve been for the years that I’ve been around them, and I can only speak to that. Those are two of the most amazing people that I know."
Not only does Hart support DeGeneres, but DeGeneres herself also took the time to defend Hart during his own controversy. At the time, she said that he had grown as a person and that as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she forgives him and is proud of how far he's come.
