Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental organization Earth Alliance will be setting up an new fund for the Australian wildfire relief and has pledged $3 million to the cause!

Leonardo DiCaprio is donating a huge amount of money to the Australian wildfire relief efforts. The Oscar winner's environmental organization Earth Alliance is setting up the Australia Wildfire Fund and is pledging $3 million to the cause.

DiCaprio's Earth Alliance has set up the Australia Wildfire Fund

The creation of the fund is a reaction to the devastation caused by bush fires that have been raging on the Australian continent for months, killing 27 people in total and destroying more than 2000 homes.

Earth Alliance has stated that "all funds will go to assist critical firefighting efforts in New South Wales, aid local communities most affected by the wildfires, enable wildlife rescue and recovery, and support the long-term restoration of unique ecosystems."

DiCaprio's organization already tried to help out with another natural disaster in the past few months. In 2019, Earth Alliance also established the Amazon Forest Fund to raise money to combat the fires that devastated the Amazon rain forest in Brazil.
