While Jason Bateman may now be a renowned actor and director, he actually got his start as a child. In fact, his very first television role came as "James Cooper Ingalls" on hit Western drama Little House on the Prairie

Jason Bateman was born into a family of acting and it greatly influenced his future career. His father Kent Bateman rose to fame in the late 1960s as a film producer for Ealing Films, and would encourage his children to take up acting.

Jason was just 11-years-old when he landed his first gig on a cereal commercial for Golden Grahams and just a year later was showing off his boyish charm as "James Cooper Ingalls" on hit series Little House on the Prairie

Jason Bateman would begin his television career in 1981 when he was cast to play the role of "James Cooper Ingalls" on Western drama Little House on the Prairie. Jason played the role of "Caroline" and "Charles Ingalls'" adopted son "James" for a total of 21 episodes until leaving the show in 1982.

Jason won audiences over with his boyish charm and natural talent, going on to star in other series including NBC sitcom Silver Spoons, which he was later nominated for a Best Young Actor in a New Television Series Award.

Unlike other childhood stars, Jason Bateman made the successful transition to adult roles and has now become a legend in Hollywood. Gaining international recognition as "Michael Blooth" on hit comedy Arrested Development has earned Jason both a Golden Globe and Satellite Award.

Jason, who is now 51, is still just as handsome as he was as a child and is seeing more success than he could have ever imagined. Currently directing and starring in his own hit Netflix series Ozark, you can also catch Jason directing and acting on his newest show, HBO miniseries The Outsider, which came out earlier this year.
