Mariska Hargitay opens up about the movie role she was fired from

Mariska explained she was cast in the Power Rangers movie, which was shot in Australia. However, something went wrong when the shooting schedule came very close to the holidays. "I was so excited because I was going to Australia to play this queen. I get there, hair, makeup, prosthetic pieces, walking around like that feeling pretty good. I was there for November, and then December and then we were getting closer to Christmas and they had me on hold a lot and finally from Dec. 21, I said, 'Hey guys, this is great, but you kept me on hold too long.' It's Christmas! I think that's only fair," explained the actress to Seth Meyers and his audience.

Mariska Hargitay, who also showed off a couple pictures of the sexy costume she was supposed to wear for her role as "Queen Dulcea," added that she flew back home to spend Christmas time with her family. When she called the Power Rangers team back in the new year, she didn't get the response she was expecting: "They're like, 'Sweetie, you're good, don't worry about it.' And they fired me!" she said. Then she learnt she was replaced by actress Gabrielle Fitzpatrick.
