Matt Damon Is In Quarantine In A Small Irish Town - This Is Why!
While most of the world is practicing social distancing or in lockdown, many celebs are staying safe in their Hollywood homes. Matt Damon and his family however, are in a more quaint location...
Matt Damon, his wife Luciana and their three children, are all currently isolating in a house in Dalkey, Ireland. The quaint location is seaside, southeast of Dublin in a little hamlet with a population of 8,000 people.
The New York Times reported that Damon and his family chose Dalkey as their location of choice for isolation because Matt was spending time in the Irish village while filming his upcoming drama, The Last Duel.
Seaside Irish Village Adopts Matt Damon
Damon's presence is reportedly welcomed with open arms in the little hamlet with some residents playfully referring to the actor as Matt O'Damon. Matt and his family made the decision to stay at their residence in Dalkey when production was suspended on the film due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Matt Damon Stayed In Ireland Instead Of New York City
This proved to be a very smart decision for the family of five as returning to their multi-million dollar luxury penthouse in Brooklyn Heights would have been difficult. New York City alone has seen over 260,000 reported positive cases of COVID-19 and over 20,8000 deaths. These numbers are significantly higher than those in Ireland.
We can also imagine that Matt is getting some wonderful, serene quality time with his wife and three daughters, Isabella, Gia and Stella.
