Naya Rivera's Heroic Last Moments

Entertainment Tonight has obtained the autopsy report of the late Naya Rivera which details her heartbreaking last moments. The terrifying search for Naya Rivera lasted for days when her 4-year-old son Josey was found alone in a boat floating in Lake Piru until on the 7th anniversary of her close friend Cory Monteith's death her body was finally found giving closure to her friends and family. Now the autopsy is explaining exactly what took place.

Naya and her son Josey held hands and counted to three then jumped into the water at Diablo Cove to enjoy a nice swim. According to the report, "Shortly after they jumped in the water, the decedent told Josey to get back on the boat. She helped him onto the boat and then he heard the decedent yell 'help' and she put her arm in the air. She then disappeared into the water." Naya's mother told authorities that her daughter was a very good swimmer and had a recent sinus infection and a history of vertigo that would become worse when she swam. Naya had had "vertigo to the point of vomiting, but she learned to control the symptoms with antihistamines."

She passed in a "manner of minutes" and her toxicology showed "a therapeutic level of phentermine, low/therapeutic levels of amphetamine and diazepam, caffeine, and a blood alcohol concentration of 0.016%." Finally, it declares "Based on the autopsy findings, known circumstances surrounding the death, and absence of anatomic or toxicological explanation for the death, as currently understood, the cause of death is drowning, and the manner of death is accident." It is clear, no outside forces or substances influenced her death and it was a mere tragic drowning.

Her son Josey is alive because she made sure he was safe first before trying to save herself. Josey is now full time with his father Ryan Dorsey while the family grieves. Ryan, Naya's family, her close friends and Glee castmates have all released statements and are supporting each other in the wake of this horrific loss. In his only public statement since her passing, Ryan said "This is so unfair... there's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts. I can't believe this is life now." He explained "Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He'll never forget where he came from."

Naya was a wonderful and extraordinarily loving mother and is greatly missed.
