There's a massive global livestream event happening this week, and celebs such as Oprah Winfrey and Julia Roberts are involved! Find out more about The Call to Unite!

Oprah Winfrey and Julia Roberts are part of an upcoming virtual event that will see quite a few celebrities, public figures, and frontline heroes getting involved! As Entertainment Tonight reports, The Call to Unite is a 24-hour-long global livestream that kicks off this Friday. It was organized by chairman and CEO of the Special Olympics Tim Shriver as a way of extending support to the world during the global coronavirus crisis.

The Call to Unite aims to be inclusive, bring people together

The Call to Unite is meant for everyone from all walks of life to take part in, according to an official press release. "All participants and viewers will be invited to #answerthecall by giving, serving, and sharing their stories," it said. "Everyone is invited. And everyone belongs". The account's Instagram page also shared a teaser video encouraging people to be part of the event.

"There are moments in time when everything changes. This is our moment to answer the call. You may be struggling. You may be scared. But you are not alone," the text in the video reads. "The Call to Unite. 24 hours to come together through stories, insights, meditation, laughter, hip hop, yoga, painting, poetry, sermons, dance, chanting, gospel, rock, swing, drumming, prayer, giving, hope. So join and #answerthecall".

Winfrey, Roberts, and more to be part of The Call to Unite

Winfrey and Roberts may be two of the big names involved in the livestream event, but they'll be joined by quite an interesting bunch! Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Mandy Moore, Eva Longoria, LeAnn Rimes, Ally Brooke, Common, Alanis Morissette, Jewel, 98 Degrees, Marie Kondo and President George W. Bush are all confirmed to be featured in the event as well. 

The Call to Unite begins on Friday, May 1 at 8 pm ET and goes until Saturday, May 2 at 8 pm ET. It will be livestreamed on the unite.us site, as well as their FacebookYouTubeTwitch, and Twitter pages. The event will also be streamed on SiriusXM Stars channel 109, with select segments available on demand from Spotify afterwards.
