On Thursday, it was revealed that Phil Collins has sent a cease-and-desist notice to U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign after they played his song! Collins objected to the use of his song "In the Air Tonight" at a rally in Iowa, and people on the internet have commented on it as well. Find out more!

Phil Collins has made it clear that he doesn't want Donald Trump to continue playing his song at his events! As ET Canada shares, Collins sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump's campaign after they used his 1980 hit "In the Air Tonight" at a recent rally.

Collins said to be "well aware" of song's use at Iowa rally

Collins' representative expressed his displeasure that the song was played on Wednesday at the president's rally in Des Moines, Iowa to Consequence of Sound. "Yes we are well aware of the Trump campaign’s use of this song and we have already issued a 'cease and desist' letter via our lawyers who continue to monitor the situation," he said.

People online have been quick to point out the irony of "In the Air Tonight" being used by Trump, considering that the current U.S. president contracted the coronavirus disease. "Watching #CNN at a #SuperSpreaderTrump event and The Trump Campaign is playing the #PhilCollins song "I can feel something in the air tonight". That's some sick irony. #HerdImmunity" wrote one Twitter user.

"At Trumps Iowa rally this eve, which state has a two-fold spike of COVID, they are blaring Phil Collins: Something In the Air Tonight," another Twitter user said. "Yeah Einstein’s it’s called COVID19. @PhilCollinsFeed #PhilCollins #CeaseAndDesist #Trump #realDonaldTrump". Here's hoping one thing that won't continue to be heard "in the air" at Trump's rallies is Collins' song!
