Piers Morgan has voiced his outrage at Miriam Margolyes over her comments on Boris Johnson's battle with COVID-19. Find out what he said to the Harry Potter actress who made the controversial remarks below...

Actress Miriam Margolyes recently made headlines with remarks on Boris Johnson's battle with COVID-19. And they certainly caught the attention of Piers Morgan.

In conversation with Channel 4's The Last Leg, Margolyes spoke out against the UK Prime Minister and his handling of the COVID-19 crisis. "It's a disgrace, it's a scandal. It's a public scandal," she began.

"I had difficulty not wanting Boris Johnson to die. I wanted him to die. Then I thought that will reflect badly on me and I don't want to be the sort of person that wants people to die," Margolyes told The Last Leg.

"So then I wanted him to get better, which he did do, he did get better. But he didn't get better as a human being. And I really would prefer that," she said.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan took issue with Margolyes' remarks and how The Last Leg's hosts handled the interview.

"Shame on you, Miriam Margolyes, absolute shame on you," Morgan said to the actress, who is best-known for the role of "Professor Sprout" in the Harry Potter franchise.

"I've got to say, I like some of [the hosts], not all of them on The Last Leg, but their reaction as well, one of you should have jumped in, there's comedy, and there's comedy – that’s not comedy," he added.

Morgan went on to explain how he would've handled a similar situation on Good Morning Britain.

"If someone said on [my] show, 'I wanted Boris Johnson to die,' I would have ripped them, and yet no one said anything, she was allowed to have her moment and people were encouraged by their silence to laugh."

Adam Hills, Alex Brooker, and Josh Widdicombe were the presenters during the interview with Margolyes.

"It's not funny what Boris Johnson went through personally on that ICU unit – he nearly died. And I think it's really shameful of Miriam Margolyes," Morgan concluded.
