'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy': Where is Ted Allen Now?
Ted Allen served as the food and wine specialist in Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the original version of Queer Eye. But it seems that he has been doing a lot since the television makeover series ended in 2007.
Edward Allen was born in 1965 in Ohio, and we bet you probably remember him as the food and wine expert on Bravo's television makeover show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, where he appeared from 2003 to 2007, and which earned him an Emmy Award.
We were very happy last year after Queer Eye, the reboot of the show, was released, with Antoni Porowski taking over the role of food and wine specialist, but it also made us wonder what the original "Fab Five" are doing now.
Where is Ted Allen now?
The original Queer Eye version where Ted Allen appeared alongside Thom Filicia, Jai Rodriguez, Carson Kressley, and Kyan Douglas, concluded in 2007, but right after that the cooking expert started to do a lot more! Since 2009 he has been hosting the television cooking competition series Chopped, as well as Chopped Junior, which began in 2015.
In 2014 he became the host of a show originally called America's Best Cook, a retooled version of that show, retitled All-Star Academy, which premiered in 2015. Also in 2015 he was part of Best. Ever., a television series that scoured America for its best pizza, breakfast, burgers, and barbecue.
