Salma Hayek Celebrates Antonio Banderas' First Oscar Nomination With Throwback Picture

The 2020 Oscar nominations were announced yesterday and Antonia Banderas received one for his role in Pain and Glory. His longtime friend, Salma Hayek shared a sweet picture and message to congratulate him! 

Antonio Banderas must be a pretty happy man! With the 2020 Oscar nominations being revealed yesterday, the actor was nominated for his first ever Academy Award. Banderas was honoured with a nomination for his portrayal of film director Salvador Mallo in the movie Pain and Glory.

Salma Hayek congratulates longtime friend Antonio Banderas

Banderas' longtime friend and co-star in at least six films, took to Instagram to congratulate him. "After 20 years of knowing you, it’s great to see that you’re still thriving, congratulations on your Oscar nomination @AntonioBanderasOficial ❤️" the actress captioned the photo. 

Antonio Banderas is proud to represent Spanish cinema

The photo she chose is a black and white shot of the two of them during their work on the 1995 film Desperado. Antonio also shared to social media how proud he is to represent Spanish cinema with a collage of photos of him and Almodovar.
