Selena Gomez Shares What Inspired Her New Ice Cream Flavour
Since Selena Gomez is releasing a new song with K-pop girl group BLACKPINK called "Ice Cream," she's created her own ice cream flavour! Gomez talked about her love for Serendipity, as well as what led her to come up with the blend. Find out what she said!
Selena Gomez is making the summer a little sweeter with her brand-new ice cream flavour! As People reports, Gomez has teamed up with Serendipity for a special pint called Cookies & Cream Remix, and the star shared what inspired the unique mix!
Gomez talks about Serendipity tradition with mom
Gomez called her collaboration with Serendipity "a dream moment" as she has a special connection to the brand! "When I was younger, I would do everything my mom did," Gomez told People, "so I watched all the movies she did." After she and her mom watched the 2001 romantic comedy Serendipity together, their sweet tradition began!
"Of course I fell in love with Serendipity. I had gone there before that, but my mom showed me the movie after and then it became a tradition of ours," Gomez said of going to the New York restaurant. "We always go there. It's so cute, quaint and it's just adorable."
Gomez says she had "sugar overload day" with friends
Gomez certainly has a sweet tooth, especially when it comes to ice cream! As People mentions, she recently gave fans a tour of her freezer in an Instagram reel, which had a whole section filled with the dessert! "I have always stocked up [on ice cream]," Gomez admitted. And when it comes to creating her own unique pint, she put a bunch of flavours to the test with the help of some pals!
"I had a sugar overload day — me, and my friends did," Gomez shared. "We were trying different things, and I loved how certain flavors would combine." That's how her flavour ended up being Cookies & Cream Remix, which People describes as "a dreamy pink vanilla ice cream filled with crunchy cookie bits and swirled with gobs of gooey fudge."
"The ingredients make me really happy," Gomez said. "[Serendipity] made one and split it in half to show me how much of the flavor was inside. I was so impressed." As People mentions, Gomez's ice cream is set to be released online and in grocery stores across the U.S. on Friday— the same day her song "Ice Cream" with BLACKPINK drops! Gomez has also been creative in the kitchen, as she's got a brand-new cooking show on HBO Max called Selena + Chef!
