At 47 years old, Snoop Dogg is not ready to slow down his active lifestyle and career! Since the early '90s, Snoop's music has been appreciated worldwide, with famous hits like "Gin & Juice" and "Beautiful". But, the rap mogul has been doing a lot more than making music... check out the article to find out what Snoop has been up to over the last decade!

The Beginnings for Snoop Dogg

Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20th, 1971 in Long Beach, California, Snoop's iconic rap name came from the cartoon character "Snoopy", which his parents nicknamed him because of his looks. After high school (which he attended with Cameron Diaz!), he had been recording mixtapes with his cousin, Nate Dogg. Snoop originally kick started his career in 1992 with the help of the legendary Dr. Dre, who discovered his talents and featured him on one of his albums.

Snoop Dogg: Platinum Level

With the help of his rap mentor, Snoop released his first solo album in 1993, Doggystyle, which sold nearly a million copies within its first week of release. Already with this first album, it had become certified quadruple platinum by 1994. His second album, Tha Doggfather, was released in 1996 and became certified double platinum in 1997. His biggest award in 1997: the marriage to the love of his life, Shante Taylor. They are still together to this day.
