Spider-Man's Tobey Maguire's Rise To Fame
Tobey Maguire was born June 27th, 1975, in Santa Monica, California to young screenwriting and construction worker parents. He had many smaller acting roles early on in his life and even found himself auditioning frequently with young Leonardo DiCaprio. The two became close friends and even made a pact to help each other get roles.
Tobey started to break into bigger roles with 1997s The Ice Storm, Pleasantville, and Wonder Boys. He even got a cameo in the introduction of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas! In 2002 he made his big break by scoring the titular role in the worldwide hit series Spider-Man.
Tobey Maguire's Life Since Spider-Man
Maguire has broken into every kind of genre like his serious roles in Seabiscuit, and The Good German. He has received great acclaim for his role alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman in the war drama Brothers and "Nick Carraway" in the remake of The Great Gatsby alongside his old friend DiCaprio.
For a period of time in the 2000s, he was receiving bad press for his behavior in the underground poker scene that was portrayed by Michael Cera in Molly's Game. He continues to act when it feels right for him or does fun cameos with his friends. He even created his own production company Material Pictures in 2012.
Maguire began dating jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer in 2003, having their daughter in 2006, marrying in 2007, and having their son in 2009. Unfortunately, the pair separated in 2016 and divorced in 2017 but continue to have a good relationship and co-parent lovingly. Tobey is now happily dating supermodel Tatiana Dieteman.
