"The A-Team": Dirk Benedict Today
Dirk Benedict starred in not one, but two, cult TV series, The A-Team and Battlestar Galactica. And yet, he couldn't quite make it in show business, unfortunately. Find out what the handsome actor is up to now, below.
Before he found fame starring in Battlestar Galactica in 1978, Dirk Benedict (73) mostly worked as a musical theatre actor. He became a true household name when he was cast as "Lieutenant Templeton 'Face' Peck" in The A-Team in 1983.
However, after the A-team finished, Dirk's fame did not last long. While other TV stars of the eighties went on to become successful and in-demand actors, Dirk's career had run its course. His performance as Hamlet at the Abbey Theatre was denounced by numerous critics and the bad reviews put a nail in the coffin of his career.
Even various guest appearances in cult TV shows such as Murder, She Wrote (1989, 1995), and Baywatch (1992), could not revive his dying career.
Dirk Benedict took reality TV by storm
Dirk Benedict enjoyed some success directing and writing the screenplay for the 200 film Cahoots and the film was shown at the Victoria Film Festival in Vancouver.
He came third in the reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother in Britain in 2007. He also made a cameo appearance in the film The A-Team in 2010.
Dirk Benedict has three children
The now seventy-three-year-old was married to actress Toni Hudson from 1986 to 1995 and they have two children. He lives in Montana with his sons, Roland and George. In 1998 it emerged that Dirk Benedict also fathered another son, in a previous relationship.
