After having released their last album 14 years ago, the Dixie Chicks are back and teasing a brand new song! Find out everything we know so far about "Gaslighter" here...

The Dixie Chicks are releasing new music sooner than you might think! The band's lead singer, Natalie Maines, has been teasing a song called "Gaslighter" on social media for the past few weeks, and now the Dixie Chicks have announced that the song will drop on March 4th!

It's uncertain as of now whether or not the song's release date will have anything to do with the release of the full album the Dixie Chicks have been working on. However, the band sure wants people to know the definition of the word they've chosen as the title of their new single.

Dixie Chicks tease new song "Gaslighter" in social media clips

In a 10-second teaser clip that the Dixie Chicks posted across their social media channels, the group sings the word "gaslighter". The video also includes a typed-out definition of the term itself, defining "gaslighter" as "a psychological manipulator who seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a group, making them question their own memory, perception, or sanity".

Maines also posted another teaser clip of the song to her Instagram before deleting it and re-posting it again, a move suspected to have possibly been intentional. In the video, some of the song's lyrics can be heard as a dancer contorts into different positions. "Gaslighter, I’m your mirror/ standing right here until you can see how/ you broke me, yeah I’m broken/ still sorry and still no apology," Maines is heard singing in the teaser.
