Rachel Brosnahan was born in Wisconsin and raised by her British mother and American father in Illinois as a child. When Rachel was in junior high school and high school she loved to participate in school musical performances, but her parents never imagined her hobby would turn into a career!
When Rachel was 16 she took an acting class with her now manager Carole Dibo and was cast in her first film, The Unborn (2009) while she was still in high school. She continued acting while attending New York University and Tisch School of the Arts.
Rachel Brosnahan's Early Roles
During university, Rachel starred in episodes of many TV series such as Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, and The Good Wife as well as acting in many Broadway plays such as Up and Othello. In 2013 she landed a 2-episode role on the Netflix series House of Cards. But after the screen writer fell in love with her acting, she stayed on for a longer role as "Rachel Posner". Her time on House of Cards lead her into a life of fame and to her future role on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

In 2017 Rachel landed the role of title character "Midge Maisel", a 1950s Jewish housewife turned comedian and has been charming audiences with her independent, witty character ever since. The show is now in its third season and shows no signs of stopping.
