The James Bond films are one of the most successful franchises in cinema history. With the newest Bond film, No Time to Die, coming out later this year, we're taking a look at the newcomer of the movie, beautiful Cuban actress Ana de Armas.

With the twenty-fifth installment of the James Bond film series, No Time to Die, being released later this year, it's time to take a look at one of the new Bond girls of the film: Ana de Armas

Born in Havana, Cuba on April 30th, 1988, Ana knew she wanted to become an actress when she was around 12 years old, practicing and memorizing movie lines in front of a mirror. She was successfully accepted into the National Theatre School of Cuba at the age of 14, but ultimately left due to the mandatory service she would have had to partake in for 3 years to the state.

At 18 years old, she ended up leaving Cuba for Madrid, Spain, where she has citizenship through her maternal grandparents. She starred in a handful of Spanish movies from 2006-2014, up until her move to Hollywood in 2015.

Because the English language wasn't her strong front, she took intensive English language courses to improve her skills and star in American movies. In her first Hollywood film, she starred opposite Keanu Reeves in Eli Roth's Knock Knock (2015).

Since the mid-2000s, Ana was able to secure roles in Hollywood year after year. She has starred in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), The Informer (2019) and Knives Out (2019), with her James Bond co-star Daniel Craig. She was even nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in Knives Out!

When Ana de Armas was invited to star as CIA Agent "Paloma" in No Time to Die, she revealed to Vanity Fair just how thrilled she was:

"Obviously I was jumping all over the place and very excited. But I needed to be sure it wouldn’t jeopardize all the work I’d been putting in, that it wouldn’t ruin everything. And the Bond women have always been, for me at least, unrelatable."

Her character in the film adds sass, humor, sexiness and confidence, just like Armas herself. It's one of the roles we're looking forward to the most!

Ana was married to Marc Clotet from 2011 to 2013 and for the last few months, the actress has been in a relationship with actor Ben Affleck.
