Born on February 7th, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts, James Spader didn't magically appear in the world of Hollywood. He dropped out of school in the eleventh grade and bused tables, taught yoga and shoveled manure before he landed his first roles on the big screen. He was married to Victoria Spader in 1987 and sadly divorced in 2004. They have two children together. Since his marriage, James has been with Leslie Stefanson for the better part of fifteen years.
Known for his rich smooth voice, James Spader first began his career back in 1978 playing the role of 'Jimmy' in Team-Mates. From then on, he starred in Pretty in Pink in 1986, Sex Lies, and Videotape in 1989 and Stargate in 1994 to name just a few. In terms of TV series, James starred as 'Alan Shore' in 22 episodes of The Practice and 101 episodes of Boston Legal. He also played the role of 'Robert California' in 25 episodes of The Office.
James continues to be busy in Hollywood with his most recent on-screen success on the television series The Blacklist where he plays the role of 'Raymond 'Red' Reddington'. The Blacklist has been on air since 2013 with 116 successful episodes. It continues to be a television hit today.
