During a recent interview, Vanessa Bryant's mother, Sofia Laine, made some harsh accusations against her daughter. Bryant responded with a statement explaining her side of things, hoping their public drama will cease. This is what she said!

Vanessa Bryant is speaking out in response to claims made by her mother, Sofia Laine. As People reports, Laine directed some hurtful accusations towards her daughter during an interview with Univision earlier this week, so Bryant has come forward to set the record straight.

Bryant defends herself against her mother's accusations

Bryant's mother alleged that her daughter made her leave a family home, as well as return a car that she had used. Upset with the way Laine had portrayed her, Bryant made a statement to People. "My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly and yet my mom has the audacity to do an interview on TV talking negatively about me while shedding tears about a car and home that wasn’t in her name," she said.

"She has removed all her diamond jewelry, emptied her apartment that I provide, and put the furniture in storage to appear as though she is without support," Bryant continued. "My husband and I have financially supported her over the past 20 years, and I continue to do so, in addition to her monthly alimony."

Bryant says her mom's words are "beyond hurtful" to her

Bryant also shared that Laine has been absent while she and her daughters have been grieving the loss of two members of their family. "Contrary to previous reports, she has not been physically present or emotionally supportive for my daughters and me after my husband and daughter passed away," she said.

Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant died in a tragic helicopter accident in January, and Vanessa has been continuing to memorialize her late husband and daughter through her Instagram posts. Recently, she revealed that she'd gotten tattoos to honour them both

"Going forward, I see what is most important to my mom and it is beyond hurtful," Bryant concluded her statement. "I hope this public airing of our personal relations will stop here." This year has been a rough one for Vanessa Bryant, so hopefully her mother will read her statement and choose to respect her daughter's wishes.
