'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire': This is Presenter Chris Tarrant Today
Tarrant began to host the popular television quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 1998. From this he has become one of the most well-known British presenters.
Tarrant rose to prominence after becoming a co-host on Tiswas, a children's television show broadcast on a Saturday morning from 1974 to 1981. Tarrant began Who Wants to be a Millionaire? in 1998 and its final live edition was a celebrity edition which aired live on 19 December 2013. The show ended when Tarrant decided to step down as the show's host and the producers decided it was time for the show to end simultaneously.
Tarrant's personal life
Tarrant had two children from a marriage to Sheila Tarrant, Helen and Jennifer. The couple married in 1971 and divorced in 1982. Tarrant met his second wife, Ingrid Dupre-Walsh, when they both worked for TV-am. The couple married in 1991 and divorced in 2007.
Tarrant has done a lot of charity work during his later life, for which he received an OBE in 2004.
Since 2014, Tarrant has been a brand ambassador and has appeared in commercials for Lottoland. It is presumed the 72 year-old will not feature as a presenter on television again.
