This year, the much anticipated Emmy Awards will be hosted virtually and stars like Zendaya have been told the dress code won't be the standard black-tie event! Despite the changes, the young actress revealed she still plans on looking her best!
The Emmy Awards pull out some fabulous looks, and it's one of the most highly anticipated red carpet events! This year, however, the global pandemic has changed plans, and now celebs are going to be making their speeches from the comfort of their own homes.
Typically, the Emmy Awards is a black-tie affair, but this year, celebs were informed that will also change. Zendaya is making it known she won't be casual, as she plans on still looking her best!
Zendaya will "pull a look"
Despite no red carpet, Zendaya won't let that stop her from getting "best dressed" once again! The starlet is known for her stunning outfits and flawless style, and she's making it known that this year is no exception!
The young 23-year old actress opened up during her Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance on what it feels like being nominated for her first Emmy Award.
The actress is put up for nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Dramatic Series for her role in HBO's hit series Euphoria, in which Zendaya plays the main character "Rue".
"I do want to dress up," she told the temporary host, Ben Platt. "I still want to have the experience."
"It’ll be probably just my family over here, but I definitely want to pull a look and maybe just walk my living room carpet," she joked.
Zendaya is known for her exquisite fashion taste and showed up to last year's Emmy Awards in a Vera Wang emerald green gown.
In July, it was reported that the host, Jimmy Kimmel, and all other celebs originally planned to attend will do so virtually, as the world continues to tackle the novel Coronavirus.
"Our informal theme for the night is 'come as you are, but make an effort,'" the letter read.
"If you want to be in formal wear, we’d love that," it continued.
"But equally if you’re in the UK and it’s 3 am, perhaps you want to be in designer pyjamas and record from your bed! We want to work with you to style your moments, but want you to guide us on your levels of comfort – where you want to be, who you want to be with, what you want to wear," the letter concluded.
