Dixie Chicks Postpone The Release Of Their Highly Anticipated New Album 'Gaslighter'
It was announced today that the release of the Dixie Chicks' long-awaited comeback album Gaslighter has been postponed indefinitely. Here's what we know so far!
Dixie Chicks fans received some disappointing news today when they learned that the group's upcoming album Gaslighter has been shelved for now. As Entertainment Weekly shares, the Dixie Chicks are the latest musical artists to announce an album's postponement in the midst of the current coronavirus crisis.
Since their last studio album Taking the Long Way was released 14 years ago, fans were eagerly anticipating Gaslighter to drop on May 1st. The Dixie Chicks even released the title track "Gaslighter" back in March as the first single from the album. However, according to a press release from the group and their record label Columbia Records, Gaslighter has been indefinitely postponed.

Dixie Chicks' press release suggests more details forthcoming
The Dixie Chicks themselves haven't yet released a statement about the indefinite postponement of Gaslighter, but according to the press release, "additional details are forthcoming". As Entertainment Weekly speculates, this likely means that the group will be sharing more information about the delay on their official social media platforms.
While the Dixie Chicks have recorded new music even after the release of 2006's Taking the Long Way, their new album was about to put them back in the musical spotlight. The now-delayed Gaslighter, set to be the fifth studio release from the musical trio, will inevitably be released at some point. However as of now, there's no telling when exactly that will be!
