Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks would first meet in 1987 while in a recording studio, however, at that time both were well into their first marriages. Trisha had just married her first husband, Christopher Latham, and Garth was going on his second year of marriage to his wife, songwriter Sandy Mahl.
While the pair were both already spoken for, Trisha and Garth would remain friends and musical partners over the years, and in an interview with Country Living, Garth, who is now 58, remembers his first encounter with Trisha being akin to "that feeling when you just meet your wife".
Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks Early Years
Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks would finally start dating in 2002, after Garth's first divorce and Trisha's second. In a stadium packed with fans, Garth would romantically propose to Trisha on stage in 2005 and the couple, wasting no more time, were married by the year's end!
Since their marriage, the couple has barely spent anytime apart, touring together and always one step behind the other! Some of their most popular duets over the years include:

While the couple has no children of their own together, Trisha has been a wonderful step-mother to Garth's three daughters from his first marriage. Trisha, who has just turned 56, is also a wonderful cook and even has her own line of cookbooks that include family recipes like "Garth's Breakfast Bowl" and an Emmy winning cooking show!
When the happily married couple of 15 years isn't busy producing heartwarming duets or cooking up a storm, they spend their time volunteering together. Since 2006, Trisha and Garth have been active members of Habitat for Humanity helping to build homes for communities in need.
Most recently, Trisha and Garth performed an at-home concert to raise funds for COVID-19 relief. Truly country music's happiest power couple, we just cannot get enough of Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks!
