'Diana': Musical Based On The Life Of 'The Princess of Hearts' Is Headed For Broadway
A new musical depicting the late Princess Diana's royal romance will be heading to Broadway in 2020. The show has previously run earlier this year and now has an opening date set for March 31, 2020 in New York.
An announcement of a new musical that will be about Lady Diana's royal romance will be heading to Broadway in New York City with performances beginning on March 2, 2020 and an official opening date set for March 31, 2020. The show will be performed at New York's Longacre Theatre.
A Broadway Musical About Princess Diana
Broadway star Jeanna de Waal who is known for her roles in Kinky Boots and American Idiot will play Princess Diana alongside Roe Hartrampf, who will play Prince Charles. They have both originated the roles previously at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego.
Tony Award-winning director, Christopher Ashley will continue to lead the project on Broadway. It is written by Tony Award-winning writers Joe DiPietro and David Bryan and it tells the story of the "late Princess of Wales' life during her marriage to Prince Charles, as well as their eventual divorce," according to Entertainment Weekly.
