In a new Instagram post, Duchess Kate revealed she's chosen the portraits that will appear in her virtual gallery exhibition! She shared a screenshot of an email announcing that the final submissions for her "Hold Still" photo project have officially been decided on. Find out more here!

Duchess Kate has officially selected the final entries for her photo project! Back in May, the royal announced she's curating a virtual exhibition called "Hold Still" that captures portraits of life during the pandemic, and on Friday she took to Instagram to reveal the featured pictures have been chosen!

Kate is "thrilled" final photo selections have been made

Kate made her Instagram post on Friday, but the email she included a screenshot of was sent a day prior! With a subject line reading "FINAL 100 - HOLD STILL," the message shows that it was sent from the Duchess of Cambridge. "I am thrilled we have chosen the final 100 portraits," Kate said in the email. "I thought you might like to see the images all together so please find them attached."

The Duchess of Cambridge also showed her appreciation to the judges for their involvement in the selection process. "I couldn’t have done it without you so thank you so much for your help!" Kate wrote. Her signoff on the message was simple, concluding it with a letter "C" for "Catherine". "An email was sent yesterday..." the caption for her post read, along with a pair of emoji eyes and the hashtag "#HoldStill2020".

Kate selected photos based on "emotion and experience"

Kate's "Hold Still" photo project is intended to show what life looks like in the United Kingdom during the coronavirus pandemic! It places focus on three key themes: "Helpers and Heroes," "Your New Normal," and "Kindness."  As People mentions, all of the photos that were chosen were picked on the basis of "emotion and experience" rather than technical criteria.

The Duchess of Sussex previously said that she "can't wait" to showcase the portraits that are chosen to be included in the "Hold Still" exhibition. She also revealed that she gets her own photography skills from her father, Michael! We can't wait to see what pictures Kate ended up choosing for her virtual gallery, and how they each capture life at a truly unique time!
