After young amputee Tony Hudgell raised money for an important cause, Duchess Kate reached out to him! She wrote a letter to Hudgell, thanking him for his charity walk in support of a children's hospital in London. Find out what she said here!

Duchess Kate recently wrote a special letter to a young boy after hearing of his remarkable fundraiser! As Hello! shares, Kate reached out to 5-year-old Tony Hudgell, a double amputee who raised money for Evelina London Children's Hospital, thanking him for what he's done.

Kate says she's "very impressed" by young amputee

Kate's letter was shared via Tony's Instagram page, which is run by his management team, Happy Feet Management. The letterhead boasts the Duchess' royal insignia— the letter 'C' with a crown on top— and the note itself is addressed to "Master Tony Hudgell."

"Dear Tony, I wanted to send my congratulations following your amazing fundraising efforts for Evelina London Children's Hospital," Kate wrote. "It was wonderful to hear how you were inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore's story to carry out your own walk. I am very impressed that you carried on even after reaching your target of 10km!"

Kate has a special connection to the London hospital

Kate wanted to make sure that Tony knew she appreciated his amazing efforts for a cause she champions! Kate has been Patron of Evelina London Children's Hospital since 2018, which makes Tony's fundraiser especially meaningful to her. As Hello! mentions, Tony's initial goal was to raise £500 pounds for the hospital, which saved his life after he was abused as a baby.

That's why he decided to set out on a 10 km walking challenge, which ended up raising an incredible total of over £1 million for the institution! To date, Tony has amassed £1,282,886 in support of the hospital. "I hope that you manage to have a very well deserved rest before starting on your next adventure - whatever that may be! Catherine," Kate signed off the touching letter.

Last month, Kate and William announced charity donations for those working on the front line and on behalf of mental health organizations during the coronavirus pandemic. The couple also shared a photo from their recent trip to Wales, where they were also seen having fun as they visited an arcade
