Exciting News Revealed Ahead Of Queen Elizabeth's Official Birthday
It has been a strange few months for the world and also the Queen who isn't used to carrying out her royal duties from the confinement of Windsor castle. Now, joyful news has been revealed about the Monarch's official birthday!
For the first time in her 68 year reign, Queen Elizabeth II cancelled her annual birthday celebrations due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. She instead, marked her 94th birthday in private on April 21. It has now been revealed however, "that a miniature version of Trooping the Colour is set to go ahead on Saturday 13 June, her official birthday."

According to the Daily Mail, the ceremonial event will take place at Windsor castle where Her Majesty and Prince Philip are self-isolating, rather than on Horse Guards Parade in front of large crowds. The parade will be led by Lietenant Colonel Henry Llewelyn-Usher with a small contingent of men from the Welsh Guards. A smaller group of the Bands of the Household Division will also be in attendance.
Keeping with tradition, there will be a royal salute to the Queen at 11am on June 13, however this time there will be no spectators. It is unknown at this time whether or not other members of the Royal Family will take advantage of easing lockdown measures to attend the parade.
Just three days before this exciting event for the monarch, Prince Philip will have celebrated his 99th birthday! June is proving to be a very exciting month for Queen Elizabeth II!
