How Prince William and Duchess Kate Are Spending Their 9th Wedding Anniversary Today
Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton reached a new personal milestone today! The couple celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. Find out how they spent their day below.
On Wednesday, Prince William and Duchess Kate celebrated nine years of marriage. The couple typically marks the occasion with a private day together.
However, their ninth anniversary plans were somewhat limited due to present circumstances in lockdown. Their day was spent at their home in Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, where they've been self-isolating with their children.
Prince William & Duchess Kate's wedding was nine years ago today
We do know that part of their anniversary was spent taking in the congratulatory messages they received from friends and royal fans.
On the Kensington Royal Instagram page, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a photo from their April 29, 2011, wedding day, which was accompanied by a message of gratitude.
The post's caption kept it short and sweet: "Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!"
William and Kate's 2020 anniversary at home
While this year's anniversary was a quiet one at home with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Duke and Duchess's anniversary has occasionally overlapped with notable events in the past.
For one, on their fourth anniversary, Kate was pregnant - and overdue - with Charlotte, who was born three days later. On last year's anniversary, the Queen granted the Duchess the title of Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victoria Order.
