Meghan & Harry Want To "Commercialise The Royal Family", Royal Biographer Says
Royal expert Tom Bower was on Good Morning Britain on Monday and delivered his take on the Sussex's most recent statement. He called Meghan "spiteful" and their statement a "threat" to the monarchy!
Amid the controversy about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan being allowed to use the word "royal" for their brand, royal expert Tom Bower had some harsh words for the Duchess of Sussex.
The writer, who's also Prince Charles' biographer, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday and called Meghan "spiteful" and her and Harry's most recent official statement "rude to the Queen".
Tom Bower: "What Meghan wants Meghan gets..."
His comments on GMB come shortly after Harry and Meghan announced via their website that "there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word 'Royal' overseas".
Bower slammed the couple for their statement, saying it "was really spiteful fury from Meghan – what Meghan wants Meghan gets."
"It was rude to the Queen," he continued. "What is spiteful is, she married into the royal family not that long ago and she bailed out. But she wants to bail out on her terms."
Bower is afraid what the couple's behavior will do to the monarchy as in institution: "What is most important for this country is to protect the reputation of the royal family. What you’ve really got is this couple being led by Meghan (who) wants to commercialise the royal family."
Tom Bower: Meghan "has not status"
When asked why he thought that Meghan was the one leading the charge for the couple, he replied: "It's the truth. She has a whole life, a whole career of commercial exploitation of herself. She has absolutely no status apart from being attached to the royal family."
Harsh words, but Harry and Meghan have actually decided to no longer use the "Sussex Royal" name for their endeavors. Watch the whole interview with Tom Bower below!
