Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry made a stop at Stanford University this week! According to Today, the couple is said to have flown commercially from Canada to the Stanford campus in California, where they were greeted by university president Marc Tessier-Lavigne.
And People exclusively confirms they had an important reason for their visit to campus. That's because Meghan and Harry were talking to Stanford professors about the new charitable foundation that they're launching!
Duchess Meghan known to value the importance of education
Meghan and Harry haven't revealed the name of their charity yet, but it's no surprise it's related to education. That's because Meghan has been an active proponent of education before, making it one of the key causes she's chosen to champion! She attended Northwestern University, and selected the ACU (The Association of Commonwealth Universities) as one of her primary royal patronages.
In addition, Meghan also incorporated her mission to advocate for education into her royal tours. When she was in Monaco during February of last year, she placed importance on young girls staying educated. She also paid a visit to the University of Johannesburg during a recent trip to Africa this fall!
