Sunday June 14 marked the third anniversary of the tragic Grenfell Tower fire. To mark the occasion, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sent a heartfelt message to the UK on Sunday and honored the women set up the Hubb Community Kitchen in London...!

On June 14 2017, the tragic Grenfell Tower fire claimed the lives of 72 people in London. One of the more positive things to come out of this horrific event was the creation of the Hubb Community Kitchen, which was set up by survivors at the nearby Al Manaar mosque in the aftermath of the fire.

The community kitchen provided refuge and hot meals for all those families affected by the tragedy in West London and it is still going today. The project has been supported by the Sussexes from very early on, which is why Meghan and Harry sent a message to the UK on the third anniversary of the fire.

Duchess Meghan: "Such an inspiration"

As the Evening Standard reports, Meghan sent an audio message all Hubb volunteers and said: "I think back to when I met all of you and how you had all come together in the wake of what you experienced in your community."

"And now what you have done is such an inspiration, you continue to give back, you continue to to put love in action. And that's really what Hubb is all about... we know it means love but you are the example of love in action, and that is your purpose."

She continued: "I'm so proud of you, so is Harry, and we are sending so much love to you from across the pond and thinking of you today, as I'm sure it's a difficult day, but also one where you can look at how much you’ve accomplished in the past three years, and how you continue to give back and be an example for all of those around you."

Meghan has visited Hubb Community Kitchen a bunch of times already and also jumped on a video call with the staff and the volunteers in April 2020 in a rare appearance during the lockdown period.
