Duchess Camilla has marked the reopening of London's National Gallery! And she dressed for the occasion, too, debuting an artful face mask during the visit. Here are the photos of Camilla's July 28 outing.
Duchess Camilla debuts face mask during National Gallery visit
The Duchess stepped out on the morning of July 28 to pay a visit to the National Gallery. The museum was the UK's first to reopen earlier this month, and Camilla attended to observe new safety precautions as well as some freshly restored Flemish artwork.
Facial coverings are recommended for National Gallery visitors, and the Duchess of Cornwall appeared happy to follow the requirement. During the outing, she wore a flashy blue peacock feather mask — a gift she received from a friend on her 73rd birthday, which fell on July 17.
Duchess Camilla on wearing a mask: "It's a bit muffled"
While Camilla made the transition to a mask in-style, she's still getting used to the experience of wearing the covering. "It's a bit muffled," she told staff at the gallery. "You have to have your ear trumpet to hear!"

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the @nationalgallery. Some changes have been made to the Gallery to prioritise visitor and staff safety, such as three, one-way art routes with social distancing measures; enhanced cleaning regimes and hand sanitizer stations; and face coverings recommended. In Gallery 21, The Duchess caught a glimpse of the newly restored 'Equestrian Portrait of Charles I' by Anthony van Dyck. The monumental work has been off display for over two years undergoing conservation. Newly reopened after a 21-month refurbishment project, Her Royal Highness also visited Gallery 32. PA
Camilla's masked outing was a rare one for the British Royal Family, who haven't made facial coverings a routine practice up to this point. As they've returned to in-person and public engagements, the royals have instead opted for careful attention to social distancing guidelines. Though, across the pond, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were spotted wearing masks during an outing earlier this month in Los Angeles.
The Duchess of Cornwall's Tuesday schedule included a visit to Boots Piccadilly Store in London, where she heard pharmacists speak on adjustments during the pandemic and their support of domestic violence charities.
