Piers Morgan Slams Meghan Markle For Being 'Patronizing'

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry helping at the One25 Charity

This week, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry visited the charity One25 to help prepare food packages sent out to sex workers working the streets. Meghan had an idea on the spot that Piers Morgan has absolutely slammed her for. Read on to see what happened...

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were helping out at the charity One25 this week. The charity has the goal of supporting women that are sex workers who often don't have all the means to support themselves. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were helping put together food packages along with blankets, condoms and hot water bottles for women working the streets when Meghan suddenly had an idea.

Words Of Affirmation

The Duchess asked for a pen so she could write messages on the bananas for the women. The messages included phrases like, "You are loved" and "You are strong". While many thought the gesture was sweet and endearing, others including Piers Morgan have criticized the messages completely. Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan, shared his opinion concerning the messages during his show and went so far as to mock her by writing some of his own messages on bananas.

"It's so patronising"

"It's one of the most patronising things I've ever seen anyone do," said Morgan, continuing with, "it's literally like here's Meghan Markle, actress, marries handsome prince, lives in a palace - comes along, picks up a bunch of bananas and says 'you're stong' - it's so patronising" according to Mirror

"Really sweet" or "really offensive"

One sex worker said the messages on the bananas were "offensive" while another one claimed that the idea was "really sweet" and said, "it's so cold right now, it's a struggle to raise money to get a bed for the night, so any food and bedding is a big help." It is clear that it's really dependent on the person on whether or not they think the Duchess' gesture was patronising or not. It's up to you to decide for yourself whether or not you believe that Meghan Markle had nothing but good intentions with her words of affirmation.
