Prince Andrew's Official Website Has Been Taken Offline

Prince Andrew's official website has been taken down.

The official website of the Duke of York has been taken down and the original link now automatically redirects to the official site of the royal family. Does this mean that Prince Andrew will never return to public duty? Read on to find out more!

Prince Andrew no longer has an official website, raising questions about him ever returning to royal duties. The site thedukeofyork.org now automatically redirects to the official page of the royal family (royal.uk) and to his page on said site. The "About" section on the Duke of York opens and shows the announcement that "His Royal Highness The Duke of York stepped back from his public duties for the foreseeable future" in November.

Prince Andrew: Trying to keep a low profile

His "About" page also features the official statement released by Buckingham Palace in November 2019 in regard to his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein after he opened up like never before about his friendship with the billionaire in a disastrous BBC interview.

The Duke of York's two social media channels on Twitter and Instagram are notably still active, although the last posts on both platforms are the ones with the official statement of Andrew stepping back from royal duties in November - nothing else has been posted since.

Prince Andrew has been trying to keep a low profile in recent months, although the Epstein case still looms and the Duke was back in the spotlight in June when U.S. prosecutors called on him for testimony. It turns out Andrew has actually been self-isolating with his daughters and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson during the COVID-19 lockdown, as was proven by a rare family photo she posted on her Instagram account.

Whether or not Andrew will ever return to public duties is still very uncertain - there's a new generation of royals that has really been stepping up, especially since the start of the pandemic, and it might just be that he is part of the past...
