Prince Charles chose the music for William and Kate's wedding
Yes, it was Prince Charles who assembled the playlist for the wedding of his eldest son! He revealed this previously unknown fact in the Classic FM interview.
"I love trying to organize some interesting, I hope, pieces of music for certain occasions… particularly for weddings if people want," he revealed. "I know my eldest son was quite understanding and was perfectly happy for me to suggest a few pieces for their wedding."
"I hope that gave some people pleasure, but it's rather fun having orchestras in for great occasions like that, and why not suggest a few pieces occasionally? Anyway... I do enjoy it," he added.
The Prince of Wales, it would appear, is a classical music buff who is eager to lend his expertise on the topic when needed.
Prince Charles's favourite classical music featured at Prince William's wedding
According to People, Charles's selections for William and Kate's April 2011 wedding included pieces by Bach, Edward Elgar, and Peter Maxwell Davies.
The couple also chose a few songs of their own — but these were reportedly selected in honour of their use at Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla's wedding. William and Kate's picks included another Davies composition, as well as one by both William Walton and Gerald Finzi.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary last month.
