Prince Harry has now broken his silence about the criticism that he and his wife Duchess Meghan faced because of their usage of a private jet to travel to the south of France this summer. The Duke of Sussex addressed the topic while in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

Prince Harry (34) has addressed the controversy of himself and Duchess Meghan (38) using a private jet for their travels. "We can all do better. And, while no-one is perfect, we are all responsible for our own individual impact; the question is what we do to balance it out." Harry said, according to Hello.

In a Q & A, Prince Harry spoke more about the use of private jets: "I came here by commercial, and I spent 99 percent of my life travelling the world by commercial. Occasionally, there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family are safe and it's generally as simple as that. For me what it is, it's about balance."

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan launch Travalyst

The controversy had arisen because Harry and Meghan flew to Ibiza by private jet among other things. Elton John and Ellen Degeneres then defended the dukes against the criticism.

The different forms of travel were discussed since the royal couple have launched global initiative in order to make travel more sustainable called Travalyst. To this end, the Duke and Duke also collaborate with companies such as TripAdvisor and Booking.com.

The Sussex Royal Instagram account describes the initiative: "#Travalyst aims to make travel more sustainable, to help protect destinations and benefit communities long into the future, and to enable consumers to make more environmental friendly choices whilst traveling."
