The majority of UK viewers won't tune in to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's Netflix productions, a poll has revealed. Data-analytics firm YouGov conducted the study, which shows bleak prospects for the couple's media appeal among adults in the UK. However, the same study shows younger viewers are the most receptive to the Duke and Duchess's new Netflix venture. Read on to get the specifics.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have a tough Netflix crowd to please in the UK.

Following the Duke and Duchess's Sept. 2 deal with the streamer, an initial reaction poll has revealed underwhelming interest the couple's future Netflix content — at least among UK viewers.

Prince Harry & Duchess Meghan's Netflix shows: Survey results

YouGov, a British market-research and data-analytics firm, released the results of a study undertaken with 2,713 adults in the UK. The firm asked: "Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have announced that they have solidified their plans to make wide-ranging film and TV content for Netflix. How interested are you, if at all, in watching this?"

The results, however early, indicate that Netflix UK viewers have little interest in Harry and Meghan's forthcoming media venture. The poll shows:

  • 64 percent: "Not interested at all"
  • 20 percent: "Not very interested"
  • 9 percent: "Fairly interested"
  • 4 percent: "Don't know"
  • 3 percent: "Very interested"

All the same, YouGov noted that 18-24-year-olds polled with the highest interest, at 23 percent, indicating the couple is best received by a younger demographic. Voters aged 50-65 and older came in lowest, with just 5 percent expressing interest.

Harry & Meghan's new Netflix deal

News broke of Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal on Tuesday, Sept. 2. "Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope," the couple said in a New York Times statement.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's Netflix deal announced on Sept. 2.

"As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us," the Sussexes added. Netflix has shared that viewers can expect to see "scripted series, docuseries, documentaries, features and children's programming" as part of Harry and Meghan's streaming content. It's not expected that Meghan will return to acting in any of the programs, however.

As THR observed, the streamer also has faith in the Duke and Duchess's global appeal, which may work to offset initially underwhelming feedback from UK viewers.
